Following its successful launch of its new Telluride and updated Sorento SUVs, KIA is turning its disruptive attention in reinventing its family-friendly minivan. The old Sedona is out and The 2022 Carnival is in, KIA may call the Carnival a “multipurpose vehicle,” and it presents an interesting alternative to minivan mainstays that competes with the Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.

This new 2022 KIA Carnival has massive interior space which offers big families a more practical option than a large SUV. The vehicle is equipped with a new 3.5L V6 engine mated to a 8-speed auto transmission that delivers risks and smooth power delivery,  produces 290 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 318 Nm of torque at 5,200. Family-friendly features

KIA Carnival with its blocky, SUV-like styling doesn’t really look like a minivan. Inside, however, it’s full of family-friendly features and tech goodies that help make carting around kids much less of a chore.

Carnival has  a three-seat second row, and found it roomy and appreciated its easy-access lower Latch anchors. It’s Slide-Flex system consists of a second row that’s split into three distinct seats and makes the second row more flexible. In that middle row there are 3 seats that slide forward and back and side to side and also recline independent of each other. Moreover, you can also fold down the center seat to turn it into a handy table with cupholders which is quite cool and useful too. More impressive is the Carnival’s small items storage spaces — a must-have for snack-obsessed, device-happy families.

There is an optional in-cabin camera system with a zoom function and a night vision through which first-row occupants can easily observe those rear seat passengers. The placement of the cameras gives a great view of both the rows at the back and the system is also paired with a voice amplification feature. Plus, dual rear-seat entertainment screens can also be added for when you absolutely need to distract whoever is sitting in back.

Another hit is Carnival’s multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A very responsive touchscreen with a slick look and straightforward menu.

If we talk about the space of this minivan KIA Carnival offers big families a more practical option; it has 40.2 cubic feet of manufactured-estimated cargo space behind the third row, which is a few cubic feet higher than others.

And when it comes to safety Carnival is no less, it has a blind spot monitor, which springs into action when a turn signal is activated. Cameras offer a view of the adjacent lane in the driver’s instrument panel.

The ride quality of the KIA Carnival is very supple. Although you may feel some movement over sharp bumps, Kia has ensured that these bumps don’t creep inside the cabin. Moreover, all the seats KIA Carnival whether front row or middle one offers great cushioning and support.
